YAIR NOAM creates music for the moments people rarely talk about openly. The Kiryat Yam artist writes from a place of vulnerability, drawing on personal struggles, anxiety, and the emotional weight that often comes with trying to fit into a world that can feel unforgiving. After stepping away from music for several years, he rediscovered his creative purpose through the songwriting of Twenty One Pilots, finding in those songs a reminder that honesty and survival could exist side by side. “Guardian Devil” reflects that rediscovered purpose, turning a deeply personal experience into a message that reaches far beyond one individual story.
The song emerged during a difficult period in Noam’s life when he found himself working in an environment where he felt exploited and undervalued. Day after day, frustration built until he realized he could no longer ignore the anger and self-protection growing inside him. Instead of presenting that reaction as something shameful, “Guardian Devil” explores the complicated role that inner darkness can play. Sometimes the part of ourselves we fear the most is also the part that refuses to let us be hurt again.
Originally recorded as a rap track, the song transformed unexpectedly after a single melodic hook reshaped the entire vision. That creative breakthrough convinced Noam that the track belonged at the centre of his evolving project. Working alongside longtime friend and producer Avi Zadkani, as well as sonic collaborator Zohar Hanukka, he developed a sound that balanced emotional tension with melodic release. Their partnership carries additional meaning because the recording took place in the same environment where Noam and Zadkani first met more than a decade ago through a local band, bringing their creative journey full circle.
The recording process itself embraced spontaneity. Improvised background vocal arrangements became one of the defining features of the track, adding layers of emotion that even surprised the artist when he first heard the finished result. Those unplanned moments reinforce the song’s central idea that authenticity often appears when control is surrendered and honest expression is allowed to surface.
“Guardian Devil” also serves as the opening chapter of an upcoming EP focused on living with anxiety and learning how to navigate its presence rather than pretending it does not exist. YAIR NOAM does not offer simple answers or easy optimism. His music acknowledges that everyone carries hidden battles and misunderstood parts of themselves. By giving those feelings a voice, he creates space for listeners to recognize they are not isolated in their struggles and that even the shadows we carry can become a source of strength.
