London-based project Shyfrin Alliance returns with its bold second album, “In the Shadow of Time.” This seven-track blues-rock journey combines deep philosophical ideas, Kabbalistic mysticism, and complex musicality. Following the success of 2024’s Upside Down Blues, which gained half a million streams on Spotify and received international radio play, Shyfrin Alliance releases “In the Shadow of Time,” an ambitious second album. Founded by award-winning author, scientist, and entrepreneur Eduard Shyfrin, the project merges his knowledge of Kabbalah and science with a fresh approach to blues-rock. The project’s motto, Music of the Mystic, Mystics of the Music, remains key to its identity, intertwining spirituality, philosophy, and storytelling into a united musical story.
The album’s seven tracks, recorded with top rock musicians in Paris studios Barillet, Ferber, and Grand Armée, explore different aspects of time. From immersing listeners in the introspective void of “Black Hole Blues” to the rhythmic flow of “Pendulum,” each song addresses time’s elusive nature. Shyfrin’s deep bass voice leads the listener, balancing intimacy with weight, while the arrangements mix classic blues-rock with cinematic textures and experimental sounds.
“I don’t think there exists an album dedicated purely to the topic of time,” Eduard says. “You will not find another album like this. My principle is I may always be afraid to enter new areas, but I will always enter them. Even if it means daring to hit the Wall of Time.”
