Unafraid to Say It All, Clare Easdown is Breaking Chains with an Explosive Punk Single, “FUCK YOUR THRONE”

A new voice from the underground scene of Menai, Australia, Clare Easdown is smashing down the doors of the industry with her raw, unapologetic, and politically motivated single “FUCK YOUR THRONE”. Written with a creative partner, Jade Ryan, under the umbrella name The Cunning Linguists, "FUCK YOUR THRONE" is a direct anti-capitalist anthem laced with enough fiery veracity that oppose the oppression of greed and the systems that contribute to the powerlessness of the people. The single serves as an unapologetic reminder that music can still be dangerous, disruptive, plus deeply relevant in contemporary society.

As Clare and Jade represent everything the DIY punk ethos was built on, the girls decided to just use what was available to them instead of waiting for a studio, budget, or even asking for permission to achieve their artistic desire of producing this song. Every layer of the song was recorded spontaneously as they recorded vocals, guitar, and everything in between in the back of a car and their living room with a laptop and a commitment to their belief of 'the song must be heard.'  Zero dollars for production, zero dollars for corporate gloss, maximum impact. Their intent was not perfection; it was expression, and that yielded a track dripping with authenticity and which took on a notable charm of that assured Clare's undeniable lyricism. Sounds of Amyl and The Sniffers, Bikini Kill, Fugazi, and the Riot Grrrl movement ring true and prevail; all while Clare maintains her own palpable, distinctive edge.

“FUCK YOUR THRONE” is an act of protest. A defiant stance against the billionaire class, against institutional greed, against the modern-day empires that prey on the vulnerable while reveling in waste. Clare and Jade birthed this song in response to the inversely widening gap of wealth: “the rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer,” and the song begs for awareness, for resistance, for communal consciousness. The lo-fi grime and elemental, minimalist arrangement, just Jade’s guitar and Clare’s blistering vocal assault, provides an added layer of bite. The message has nowhere to hide, and that’s the point.

Clare’s vocal delivery is straight-up pure, unfiltered emotion, rasping rebellion, cathartic release. Jade’s guitar work cuts through in the way a megaphone shreds the empty chatter of a riot crowd. Together, the song's sonic delivery packs a punch that is ungainly, human, imperfect, and alive. And it’s that alive-ness that makes the song so magnetic. In a time when music is frequently so sterilized into algorithm wallpaper, “FUCK YOUR THRONE” demands to neither bow, bend, nor behave.

Clare's odyssey deepens the significance of the moment outside of the race. A self-taught singer and producer, Clare has actively been developing her musicianship for the past nine years, reflecting a myriad of influences from Grimes, Madonna, Trip-Hop, Punk Rock, Trap, and Post-Punk. Clare has never conformed to a single genre of music, and this release will express her willingness to take a chance and grow. Meeting Jade on Tinder a year ago was the serendipitous inflection that sparked their collaborations, which have led the duo to weekly shows at MoshPit Bar, Sean & Dolly's, and a developing list of punk venues across Australia, including opening slots for S.M.D. PUNK and Crash and The Crapenters. A headlining show at Club 77 now serves as their latest pinnacle.

"FUCK YOUR THRONE" is not just a punk song; it is a warning shot, a defiance, a battle cry, and a proclamation of independence. Clare Easdown does not come to placate the system; she comes to challenge it, expose it, and burn every throne built on the backs of others.
