Alexandra Lights Up Vulnerability with New EP Let It Burn

From deep in the heart of Dallas, singer-songwriter Alexandra has released her standout debut EP, Let It Burn, a five-track collection that captures the essence of a living room jam session with friends and the exhale of lighting up old versions of yourself. The EP was recorded in a house and produced by the duo JST FRNDS, meaning it feels less like a polished studio record and more like an open invitation to a weekend filled with art, just for the joy of it. It is raw, it is real. Alexandra's fearless vocals and intimate lyrics push it into relevance.

Alexandra's music pulls a little from the style of Americana and folk-pop storyteller songwriters such as Sheryl Crow and Stevie Nicks, and then digs into her own updated view on a sound that's equal parts jangly guitars, thumping percussion, and stripped-down vulnerability.

The EP kicks off with Funny, a track that opens with radio static before exploding with playful self-assuredness and storytelling. Next, songs like Adrenaline and Lift the Veil turn the knife, unpacking self-discovery and tiptoeing the fine line of honesty and self-preservation.

The beauty of Let It Burn is in the imperfections. The drums are muffled with old bandanas, the piano creaks under the weight of accumulated feeling, and the house itself seems to resonate through every single note. This is music that is all about the truth, leading with soulfulness over sheen.

With live appearances at the State Fair of Texas and the Western Days festival coming soon, Alexandra is ready to take these songs from her living room and her community to larger audiences. Let It Burn isn’t a welcome mat for Alexandra; it’s a bold declaration of intent announcing her presence as a new voice to reckon with in modern folk-pop music.
