Knightheart’s “Faith Over Fear” Album: A Gritty, Soulful Victory Based in Healing and Hip-Hop Heritage

Knightheart is an artist from Toledo, Ohio, who offers us a deeply personal and sonically adventurous debut with Faith Over Fear. An independent hip-hop album that is as much a call to action as it is a meditation on survival, Faith Over Fear incorporates raw lyricism, experimental guitar, and spiritual undertones into a 13-track project that blurs the lines of genre and gives us a sonic and poetic journey of strength, pain, and purpose.

Recorded primarily in the private Jungle Studios with engineer Travisio “Pachuco” Barrera, Faith Over Fear is rife with the marks of DIY artistry and tireless vision. Featuring collaborating artists that include Dizzy Wright and LaRussell, along with vocalists KyngJermaine and Shayla Hamady, the album alternates between heavy-hitting bars and soulful melodic refrains, and balances intensity with vulnerability.

While tracks such as "Whiskey" and "Protect Your Heart, Guard Your Peace” grapple with the weight of emotional struggles, "Blessings in Disguise (DND)” and "Thick Skin" feature powerful messages enveloped in moody yet atmospheric production.

Knightheart's "ghetto gospel" is more than music. It's a philosophic exposition rooted in old-school and new hip-hop, from Tupac to Childish Gambino. With guitar work by Jay Reau and subject matter that's spiritual and at once grounded, Faith Over Fear is a healing and powerful listen that transcends genre.
